Seven people involved in Wednesday's riot have turned themselves in to the police, and charges have been recommended against two people.
A 17-year-old male turned himself into Burnaby RCMP after images of him looting after Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final turned up on the Internet.
Mounties are recommending charges related to the looting of a Louis Vuitton store at Howe Street and Georgia in downtown Vancouver, and the destruction of a police car which was flipped over during the rioting. Police have not identified him due to his age. He is scheduled to appear in court in August in order to answer charges of Break Enter and Theft, and Mischief to Property over $5,000.
Vancouver Police have also recommended charges of Arson to Property and Unlawful Assembly for another man. The Crown counsel will now decide whether the evidence is sufficient to go to court.
Vancouver Police and RCMP has received tens of thousands of tips, photos and videos, and are encouraging others to turn themselves in.
