Oct. 18, 2006 - Manjit Panghali attends a prenatal yoga class in Surrey, B.C. It's the last time the 31-year-old is seen alive.

Oct. 19, 2006 - Mukhtiar Panghali calls RCMP to file a missing persons report, 26 hours after his wife's expected arrival at the family home. Mr. Panghali says he was under the impression he had to wait 24 hours before police would accept his report.

Oct. 23, 2006, just after 9 a.m. - Ms. Panghali's remains are found on a narrow strip of beach alongside the Deltaport causeway. Her body is badly burned and not immediately identified.

Oct. 23, 2006, around 2 p.m. - With no clear connection between Ms. Panghali's case and the remains found earlier in the day, her family appears before the media and pleads for information. Mr. Panghali weeps as he asks the public for help in locating his missing wife.

Oct. 26, 2006 - Ms. Panghali's body is identified on the basis of dental records. Delta Police, who have taken over the investigation, inform the family.

Mar. 12, 2007 - Delta Police announce Mr. Panghali's arrest.

Nov. 15, 2010 - Mr. Panghali's trial on charges of second-degree murder and interfering with bodily remains begins in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster. The Crown points to his inconsistent behaviour, and gas-station surveillance images that appear to show Mr. Panghali buying a lighter and newspaper the night his wife was killed. The defence calls the Crown's case littered with assumptions and light on facts.

Feb. 4, 2011 - Mr. Panghali is convicted on both counts by Madam Justice Heather Holmes.

Mar. 17, 2011 - Mr. Panghali will be sentenced.
