A Calgary man has been seriously injured after he was kicked off a party bus that later ran him over after he fell under the vehicle.

The man, who is believed to be in his 20s, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but a police news release says he's expected to survive.

Investigators say the young man and his girlfriend were kicked off the retrofitted school bus Saturday night for their disruptive behaviour.

Police say the man then started pounding his fists on the side of the bus; but when it pulled away from the curb, he slipped under the wheels and was run over.

The incident is under investigation by the Calgary police.

The name of the injured man has not been released.
