On Wednesday, CAMH will announce a $10 million donation from Margaret McCain for mental health programs for children and youth, that will be used, among other things, to hire more staff, create programs and start an inpatient unit for youth with both mental health and addictions.

Canada's mental-health system badly needs more funding, better direction and a bigger commitment to those with severe mental health problems, according to a report detailing the country's first national strategy.

How can Canada overhaul its system? David Goldbloom, a psychiatrist and chairman of the Mental Health Commission of Canada, which produced the report, answered your questions along with Globe health reporter André Picard.
