Everyone's online, except Oxbridge
The Universities of Cambridge and Oxford are some of the highest-profile resisters to the online learning evolution in postsecondary education. A consortium of universities in the U.K. announced last week that they would offer massive online open courses through Open University, with courses from Bristol, Southampton and Warwick among others, but not the internationally-renowned names.
Look for apps that target comprehension, not just letters
Most learning apps, regardless of the platform for which they are built, target very basic learning like understanding letters and sounds, researchers have found. They urge parents to look for apps that promote vocabulary, comprehension and the ability to tell stories.
For two weeks, drop the course reading list
