The Red Cross is working with tenants displaced by a fire Monday night at an apartment complex in Amherst, N.S.

The organization says at least 29 adults and children were forced from the four-storey building on Dickey Street.

No injuries were reported, and there is no word on the cause of the fire.

The fire was contained to two apartments, but the Red Cross says other parts of the building sustained water and smoke damage.

The majority of tenants spent the night with family or friends, while others stayed at a fire hall where the Red Cross provided cots and other necessities.
