A former Conservative member of the Nova Scotia legislature is due in Supreme Court in Halifax next month on charges related to the province's political spending scandal.
Richard Hurlburt has yet to enter pleas on counts of fraud over $5,000, breach of trust by a public officer and uttering forged documents.
The Crown says it hopes to begin the process of choosing trial dates on Sept. 22.
Mr. Hurlburt did not appear in provincial court today but was represented by counsel.
He is one of three former politicians and one current member of the legislature facing charges from a lengthy probe into alleged spending abuses.
Former Liberals Russell MacKinnon and Dave Wilson and current Independent Trevor Zinck also face charges.
