Heavy snow is expected to strike the morning commute in southern Ontario on Wednesday morning.
Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings across the Golden Horseshoe to the southwest of Toronto, forecasting over 15 cm of snow beginning tonight and tapering off on Wednesday.
The Toronto region is also under a snowfall warning, with over 10 cm of snow expected in the City of Toronto and more in the region.
The culprit is a low pressure system over Louisiana that Environment Canada says will draw moist air from the Gulf of Mexico before moving north into Ohio and then east into New England.
Snow should begin in Southwestern Ontario early in the evening and after midnight in the Toronto region.
"Most regions from Windsor to Toronto to Kingston and Brockville will likely have received several centimetres of snow by the Wednesday morning rush hour," the public forecaster said in a weather statement.
