A P.E.I. food company is expanding a voluntary recall of some of its sandwiches and other items because they may be contaminated with Listeria bacteria.
The warning covers certain sandwiches, subs, wraps, burgers, breakfast muffins and bagels made by Atlantic Prepared Food Ltd. of Alberton.
The affected sandwiches are sold under a number of brand names including Sub Delicious, Circle K and Country Morning with best-before dates up to and including Dec. 6.

The products are known to have been distributed in P.E.I. and Nova Scotia and may have also reached the other Atlantic provinces.
The agency says the affected products contain processed cheese slices recalled by Saputo Inc. of Montreal.
The agency adds that there have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of the P.E.I. products.
Food contaminated with Listeria may not look or smell spoiled but may cause listeriosis. The food-borne illness can cause high fever, severe headaches, neck stiffness and nausea.
Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
