A man accused of killing his pregnant wife was denied bail yesterday in B.C. Supreme Court.
Manjit Panghali, who was four months pregnant when she disappeared after a prenatal yoga class in October of 2006, also had a 3½-year-old daughter. Her burned body was found next to a highway nearly two weeks later.
Her husband, Mukhtiar Singh Panghali, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder last March.
Last year, Ms. Panghali's brother-in-law, Sukhvinder Singh Panghali, was granted bail. He is charged with being an accessory after the fact, interfering with a dead body and assaulting a police officer during an alleged escape attempt while in a police cell.
