A Toronto man faces several charges after his alleged unruly behaviour caused him to be removed from an Air Transat plane in Montreal on Sunday.

The Airbus A-330 had landed at Trudeau International Airport for a brief stopover during a flight from Toronto to Turkey.

But a passenger allegedly became aggressive with the cabin crew soon after the plane took off and the pilot returned to the airport.

A 25-year-old man was taken off the plane and arrested by Montreal police.

Akkaya Dogan is charged with committing a terrorist hoax, assault, making threats and criminal harassment.

The flight to Istanbul left Montreal later Sunday evening with 315 passengers aboard.
