A family physician from Thunder Bay has taken the reins of the Ontario Medical Association.
Stewart Kennedy has been named president of the association representing thousands of doctors across the province.
Dr. Kennedy says he hopes to make health care a key issue in the provincial election this fall.
He says one of his goals is to expand the use of electronic medical records, which are currently used by roughly 5,000 physicians in the province.
Dr. Kennedy is the association's 130th president and replaces Dr. Mark MacLeod, an orthopedic surgeon at the London Health Sciences Centre.
