An off duty Ottawa police officer has been killed in a car wreck.
Police say 32-year-old Const. Mike Robillard was on his way to work Sunday afternoon when his Honda Civic collided with a Dodge Caravan in Metcalfe (on 8th line Road at Parkway Road).
Robillard was pronounced dead soon after the crash.
A woman and her seven-year-old daughter were in the Dodge — they were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Robillard had been with the Ottawa force for four-years after transferring from Cornwall, and leaves behind a wife and two children.
The crash is still under investigation.
