A Canadian army officer leaked plans for a proposed invasion of Quebec to sovereigntist heavyweight Jacques Parizeau in 1972, a Quebec news magazine reported in its latest issue.

The plan, called Neat Pitch, was being debated by about 60 high-ranking military officers at a Montreal hotel as it was slipped to Mr. Parizeau, L'Actualité reported.

Mr. Parizeau, who eventually served as Quebec premier, was a university professor at the time and was setting up an informal intelligence network for the PQ. CP
