Surgeries at Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital will resume because power, steam and ventilation services have been restored.
Officials say surgeries set for Thursday will go ahead as planned.
Jackie Mann, vice president of Integrated Health Services, says 37 surgeries were postponed over the last two days because a partial power failure cut electricity to some areas during a scheduled upgrade.
The power failure also affected medical air and suction, air flow ventilation and heating equipment, as well as steam services, which provide hot water, heat, and surgical instrument sterilization.
However, the health region says the hospital does not have backup power if there is another power failure.
Surgeries that were postponed from Tuesday and Wednesday are in the process of being rescheduled.
"I do want to express my sincere apology that we had to reschedule these surgeries," Mann said in a news release.
"We absolutely recognize that for every patient and their family, it's a very stressful time to have surgery. We really had to do this to ensure their safety."
Nilesh Kavia, vice president of finance and corporate services, thanked maintenance workers at the hospital.
"Many of them worked through the night and worked very hard to get some of the issues we had resolved. As well I want to thank all our patients, employees and care providers for their patience and co-operation over the last few days."
