People in the town of Walkerton, Ont., are gathering today to remember the E. coli tragedy of 10 years ago.
The commemoration starts at the infamous former Well 5 - where cattle manure washed into Walkerton's water system.
From there, people will walk to the Heritage Garden, a park created as a reminder of the tragedy.
It was over the long weekend in May 2000 that the contaminated water began making people ill.
By the time it was over, seven people were dead - one a two-year-old girl - and almost 2,500 others were sick.
Organizers say the walk is both to honour the victims of the disaster - and to celebrate how the town has rebounded since.
