By 2050, it's estimated that roughly 70 per cent of the world's population will live in cities. Moving people efficiently throughout increasingly congested urban areas will be a key challenge for city planners going forward. It's an area that needs innovative solutions and companies like Bombardier Inc. are getting creative with a pilot project it's calling the Primove. The system uses wireless technology to recharge the vehicles, but is it a solution that can work during Canada's harsh winters?

David Jeanes, president of Ottawa-based Transport Action Canada, a national advocacy group that lobbies for sound transportation policies, practices and services across the country, answered readers' questions during a live chat Thursday.
