The CBC celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, and the public broadcaster, an anchor of Canada's cultural life, finds itself stretched, by budgetary pressures and by online offerings that challenge Canadian content regulations.

In this week's Time To Lead series, arts reporter Kate Taylor explored what role the CBC can play in this new landscape. She writes that "The paradox is that as commercial choices and international choices proliferate, a public broadcaster of Canadian programming becomes more distinctive and more relevant, not less. The CBC is not a sideshow, but rather a solution."

What do you think the CBC should focus on? Should it run American game shows and American-style reality shows, like Wheel of Fortune or Battle of the Blades? Should it strive to be more connected to its audience, as the Globe argued in a recent editorial? Or should aspire to better arts programming, as TV critic John Doyle proposes?

Ms. Taylor took your questions in this online chat, hosted by editorial writer Karim Bardeesy.
