Two killed by freight train along stretch of track outside Hamilton: police

Police say a man and a woman are dead after being hit by a freight train outside Hamilton.

Halton region police Sgt. Robert Lloyd says they were struck and killed around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Milton.

Lloyd says they were struck by a westbound CP Rail train along a stretch of track (near Milborough Town Line north of Derry Road) and not near a crossing.

No names have been released.

Police are investigating.
