Crews have rescued a woman who fell into the Niagara Gorge early this morning.

Niagara police say they got a call about a woman going over a wall adjacent to the gorge just after 3:30 a.m.

Firefighters used infrared equipment to find the 38-year-old woman, who was in some bushes on a ledge about six to seven metres down the gorge.

The woman, who is a Niagara resident, was successfully pulled from the gorge and taken to hospital.

Police say she was conscious and appeared to have suffered only minor injuries when crews reached her.
