The Ottawa Police Service Break and Enter Unit is seeking public assistance to identify a person of interest in relation to a recent nighttime prowling incident in the Rockliffe area. The man can be seen in pictures and video from a security camera. No further description is available.
Police investigating a break-in at the home of Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau have released images of "person of interest."
The Ottawa Police Service published the images, which were said to be from a security camera, on Friday morning. They were accompanied by a terse statement that "the Ottawa Police Service Break and Enter Unit is seeking public assistance to identify a person of interest in relation to a recent nighttime prowling incident in the Rockliffe area."

Mr. Trudeau's wife, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, and the couple's three children were sleeping last Saturday morning when an intruder slipped into the family home in Ottawa's Rockcliffe Park neighbourhood. A source close to the Liberal Leader said a threatening note warning the family to lock their doors was left atop several large knives on the kitchen floor. A door – the one least accessible from the street – had been left unlocked, the source said.
The Liberal Leader has since asked the RCMP for a threat assessment.
Ottawa police released footage Friday showing a "person of interest" after Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau's home in Ottawa's Rockliffe Park neighbourhood was broken into on Saturday. Police are seeking the public's help in identifying the person.
The RCMP's Protective Operations unit is responsible for shielding senior federal leaders, such as the Prime Minister, the Governor-General and their families. The Official Opposition Leader, currently the NDP's Thomas Mulcair, doesn't have a personal security detail outside of election periods, an NDP source said.
