The ad campaigns of all of the federal parties have moved into high gear and the New Democrats have joined the blitz with this entry that will begin to air in Quebec on Thursday.

At a mere 15 seconds, it certainly wins the award for cuteness. Although the subtitles are in French, you don't have to speak the language to understand the message.

The New Democrats say they want the ad to tell Quebeckers that Ottawa has been running in place without addressing their priorities or those of the rest of Canada.

They say it is part of their strategy to show how the old options are no longer working and how Jack Layton and the NDP best embody Quebec values.

It's also the antithesis of the classic attack ad.
