Hudak heads into Southern Ontario

Fresh off the most boisterous rally of the campaign in London on Monday night, Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak will look to keep the momentum going as he pushes deeper into Southern Ontario.

He'll not have to go far for his first appearance. He'll meet the media in the parking lot of the Four Points by Sheraton before climbing on his bus and heading to Chatham for a photo op at a manufacturing plant.

The riding was comfortably won by Liberal Pat Hoy over the PC challenger in 2008.

Then it's back on the bus to head to Kingsville, where Mr. Hudak will speak at the Lions Community Hall.

McGuinty continues his renewable energy push

Liberal Leader Dalton McGuinty will visit more renewable energy companies on Tuesday, to highlight the Liberals' goal to build a "high skills, high wage economy." He will start his day in the riding of Scarborough Centre, where he will tour the Samco solar energy plant. The riding is home to his energy minister Brad Duguid who is seeking re-election.

From there, Mr. McGuinty will swing through the riding of Scarborough Rouge-River, where he will tour Eclipsall Energy Corp., capping his sixth clean energy event in seven days. Liberal Bas Balkissoon is seeking re-election in the riding.

Mr. McGuinty will end his day with a rally in his home town of Ottawa, where Liberals hold five of the region's six seats. The Tories hold one. Liberal Bob Chiarelli won by a slim margin in the urban riding of Ottawa West-Nepean in a by-election last year. The New Democrats are hoping to nab Ottawa Centre.

Horwath talks jobs in Canada's 'Motown'

The New Democrats head southwest to Windsor on Tuesday, first for an announcement at a training centre in the former auto-heavy city, which in June was the unemployment capital of Canada (it has since ceded that position to Peterborough, but is still sitting well above the national average at 9.8 per cent). No confirmation on the nature of the announcement, but it's a safe bet NDP Leader Andrea Horwath will continue to push her jobs plan and – what was it again? – "affordable change."

The NDP faces off against incumbent Liberal and last legislature's Finance Minister Dwight Duncan in Windsor-Tecumseh. But incumbent Sandra Pupatello isn't running for re-election in Windsor West, which gives the NDP's candidate Helmi Charif a fighting chance.
