The latest CN Tower attraction will allow people to step outside 1,168 feet in the air and take a walk around the observation pod. A steel walkway has been constructed for the new attraction, offering people the chance to see Toronto from the top of the world and really confront their fear of heights.
"With our 35th [anniversary]coming up this summer, we thought what a great opportunity to introduce visitors to something new and exciting - and on top of that, extreme," said chief operating officer Jack Robinson.
Participants will be strapped in to an overhead rail and taken on a walk along the 5-foot-wide ledge. The best part? No hands. Particularly brave people are encouraged to lean back and, with the support of the harness, hang over the city.
The walks take place with groups of six to eight people and are led by a guide. The whole experience is expected to last about an hour and a half, with the bulk of that devoted to safety training and setup. The outdoor portion will last nearly 30 minutes.
"We wouldn't even have dreamed of doing this unless it was safe," Mr. Robinson said.
Tickets for the attraction go on sale June 1 and will cost $175 each.
