With some eastbound flights getting off the ground in Toronto, more than a hundred others were still cancelled Tuesday morning.
As of Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., there were 127 flights cancelled out of Pearson International Airport, down from more than 200 Monday afternoon.
Both American and Canadian airlines still showed cancellations to New York's three airports and the Maritime provinces.
Those major airport closing were causing travel pains for international voyagers at Pearson International Airport Monday.
Stranded travellers huddled around courtesy phones, as yellow "Cancelled" notifications for flights to Moncton, Fredericton, New York and Newark airports flashed on terminal screens overhead.
Cancelled flights to LaGuardia International Airport appeared to be causing the most headaches for major airline Air Canada, with flights also cancelled to Boston and Philadelphia Monday morning. After day-long cancellations an Air Canada flight was the first to leave for LaGuardia Monday night at 6:15 p.m.
A smattering of flights to LaGuardia from both American and Canadian airlines were taking off Tuesday morning. Several early morning flights also departed for Halifax and St. John's, but were still cancelled for Fredericton.
