Brutus (The Barber) Beefcake appears at Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s office at City Hall on Nov. 7, 2013DEBORAH BAIC/The Globe and Mail

Former wrestler Brutus (The Barber) Beefcake was escorted out of Toronto City Hall today after gathering outside Mayor Rob Ford's office with a pair of shears and a submarine sandwich.

Before security asked him to leave, he told the media waiting outside the mayor's office that he saw the video released today of Mr. Ford appearing to make threats and he believes Mr. Ford needs help.

"He needs an intervention so I am going to be his angel of mercy," said Beefcake.

According to Mr. Beefcake, many of his friends, including top wrestlers, have died from drugs and alcohol. He hopes Mr. Ford won't follow in their footsteps.

"Maybe if he gets his body right, he will be able to get his mind right," said Mr. Beefcake.

Mr. Beefcake wasn't the first to visit city hall this week. Yesterday, the Iron Sheik, a former WWE wrestler, arrived in a wheelchair to challenge the mayor to an arm wrestle. The Sheik himself has struggled with drugs and alcohol dependencies.
