Two people are dead and four others injured following a house fire overnight in Toronto`s northwest area.
Fire platoon chief Tony Bellevance says a man in front of the home on Charrington Crescent, near Jane and Sheppard, alerted firefighters to three people still inside and they entered and found a woman on the main floor.
Ambulance officials say the woman in her 70s and the man in his 40s were taken to hospital reportedly suffering from smoke inhalation.
Chief Bellevance says firefighters were prevented from searching further because of the heat, and when they were able to re-enter the house, two bodies were found.
CP24 reports they were a 82-year-old man and his son.
The injured include two firefighters, who were reportedly being treated for smoke inhalation and a minor leg injury.
Investigators with the Fire Marshal' s Office are on the scene looking for the cause of the blaze.
