Kalanidhi Festival
If Torontonians don't know the eight major forms of classical Indian dance by now, it's no fault of Sudha Khandwani. The artistic director of Kalanidhi Fine Arts has presented artists and companies from the world over during over her 25 years in the city. Game On 2.0: An Exhibition
Back in our day, we used to simulate a table tennis match by way of a rudimentary two-dimensional video game played on low-definition television screens. It was visually dull and strategically unsophisticated, but that's the way we liked it! Greed. Sex. Survival. Playwright Nicolas Billon's gripping three-pronged drama shows how a banking crisis in Reykjavik can affect people in ways more than financial. Martian Awareness Ball
The extraordinary and whimsical chanteuse Mary Margaret O'Hara has always been one our favourite Martians. Keeping on with a 35-year tradition, Ms. O'Hara and her brother Marcus will throw an Irish bash, a lively affair that attracts fans of the sometimes spacey singer. Details of the event are rarely available in advance, but it's enough to say that little green men and smiling eyes are not out of the question. March 16, 9 p.m. $10. The last time we saw a side headlock at the El Mocambo, it involved the Rolling Stones and a prime minister's wife.
