Four people have been reportedly wounded in a shooting incident in Toronto on Friday, including one outside a hospital.

Local media outlets say one person suffered injuries described by Toronto police as life threatening, the other three suffered wounds described as minor and they've been released from hospital.

Toronto police say the shootings happened at three different locations, one of which was outside Etobicoke hospital in the city's northwest.

The emergency room of Sunnybrook hospital was locked down as a precaution, reportedly to protect one of the people who was shot.
