Commuters who usually travel into Toronto by rail from west of Burlington, Ont., will face delays Monday after a deadly VIA Rail derailment on the rail line east of Aldershot.
GO Transit said train service will operate from Hamilton but will not service the Aldershot station just west of the accident site. Passengers who normally take the train from Aldershot will be able to take a shuttle bus service to and from Burlington to connect with the GO trains.
GO also encouraged passengers "if possible to consider other alternative travel options to work."
VIA Rail said customers travelling Monday on the line from Toronto to Niagara should expect to be getting on buses. Passengers can check on the status of their train at 1-888-VIA-RAIL (888-842-7245) or at viarail.ca.
