GO Transit is investigating after a passenger snapped a photo of a bus driver talking on a cellphone behind the wheel.

The photo was taken Feb. 2 by a passenger on a GO bus leaving the Streetsville station for Union station in Toronto.

It shows the driver holding a phone in one hand and steering the bus with the other.

The passenger says the bus was travelling about 40 kilometres an hour at the time.

GO Transit is investigating and says if the allegation is true, disciplinary action would be warranted.

The Toronto Transit Commission says it has disciplined drivers recently after similar photos surfaced.

It's illegal to talk on a hand-held cellphone while driving in Ontario - GO has had a policy against using cellphones behind the wheel since the mid-'80s.
