An AIDS-positive Toronto man already charged with aggravated assault for allegedly having unprotected sex with a woman and not telling her he was infected now faces a second, similar charge after another woman made the same accusation.

Police said Friday the second woman stepped forward this week after hearing about the first charge.

Ian Thomas Williams, 49, was named in an arrest warrant a week ago and surrendered to police the same day.

It's alleged that he met the first woman, aged 51, in a city bar early in August and that the couple had sex several times. He was also wanted for failing to comply with the terms of a probation order.

Mr. Williams appeared in court briefly last weekend and was remanded in custody.

The second alleged victim contacted police on Tuesday, and authorities suspect there may also be other victims.

Mr. Williams is described as black, 6'1", with a muscular build, brown eyes and black hair in dreadlocks.
