One man has been arrested after allegedly throwing hot soup at another man at the site of the Occupy Toronto demonstrations Thursday evening.

Police say a man allegedly threw the soup in the victim's face just before 8 p.m. at St. James Park, where occupiers have been camped for a month. The male victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said.

Across the street from the park, some business owners and residents gathered at a restaurant to discuss their complaints against the occupiers, including noise levels, loss of business and concerns about reduced safety in the park.

Mayor Rob Ford was reportedly invited to the meeting, but did not make an appearance.

On Wednesday, Mr. Ford had said that businesses and residents of the area want him to dismantle the camp and say they've "had enough" of the occupy movement.

"They have had a peaceful protest. I think it is time that we ask them to move," he said at the time.

Mr. Ford did not provide details of how and when he plans to get the protesters to leave St. James Park.
