A 67-year-old man has been charged with murder after police say an argument at a Toronto barbecue turned deadly, CFRB and 680 News report.

Police say 35-year-old Quincy Ramirez was shot and killed just before 8 p.m. Sunday during a party in the backyard of a west-end low-rise apartment building on Ossington Ave).

Det. Sgt. Gary Giroux says it started with a dispute over an earlier small claims court settlement between the two men.

He alleges the accused went into his apartment, grabbed a rifle and shot Ramirez at least twice.

Edwin Parkinson is charged with first-degree murder.
