A portion of Lake Shore Boulevard was closed Tuesday after concrete appeared to have fallen off the Gardiner Expressway.
The lane closures at Lake Shore Boulevard East and Cherry Street lasted for several hours.
Stephen Buckley, general manager of Toronto transportation services, said they got a call notifying them of the concrete at about 11 a.m.
"Some of the concrete may have fallen off the structure," he said adding that contractors are conducting a closer inspection and chipping away any other concrete that appears unsafe.
The lane closures ended just after 6 p.m.
Mr. Buckley said the inspection will continue for the next few days, with more lane closures possible.
