Toronto Police are searching for four men who allegedly abducted a business owner at gunpoint before releasing him hours later.
The armed men entered the male victim's business in Etobicoke around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday and forced him into a white Mercedes sedan.
Investigators are trying to determine a motive for the abduction.
"That's definitely something that we're looking into. What was the motive behind this? Why did they do this? Did they obtain anything?" said Constable Wendy Drummond.
The suspects drove around for a couple of hours, police said, before dropping the victim off near his place of work on Westmore Drive near Highway 427 and Highway 407. Constable Drummond said it was not clear whether he was harmed.
The suspects were driving a 2002 four-door Mercedes C250 with the Ontario licence plate BLHT 700. Two were heavyset white men in their 20s, one with several tattoos. The other two were black men wearing dark clothing.
"We are cautioning people do not approach this vehicle. We believe the suspects are armed and dangerous," Constable Drummond said.
