Toronto police are asking the public to help identify two men who they say are responsible for severely beating a taxi driver Sunday morning.

According to police, the men took a Beck taxi from College and Clinton streets to Bloor Street West and Dundas Street West at about 1:15 a.m.

Police say the driver was beaten after he chased the men for failing to pay their fare.

The suspects were last seen fleeing the scene northbound on Dorval Road.

Police describe both suspects as being white, between the ages of 18 and 20, clean shaven with brown hair and dressed in a dark, winter jacket with a baseball cap. They say one man's cap had a brim facing forward, while the other's faced backwards.

Photos of both suspects can be viewed on the Toronto Police Service website.

They are asking anyone with information about the suspects to contact police at 416-808-1100 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
