A 16-year-old boy has died in hospital after being critically injured in a skiing accident northeast of Toronto, 680News and CFRB reported.

Police say the teen fell and hit his head while skiing Friday night at the Lakeridge ski hill in Uxbridge.

They say the teen, who was wearing a helmet, was found without vital signs at the resort.

He was taken to Sunnybrook hospital in Toronto, where police say he succumbed to his injuries Saturday morning.
