Tonight at 7 p.m. ET, candidates for mayor of Toronto hold their first debate since a new Globe and Mail poll suggested that controversial Etobicoke councillor Rob Ford has pulled slightly ahead of George Smitherman in voter support.

Toronto columnist Marcus Gee will be sending reports from the debate on Twitter.
