The Toronto Police Service's latest statistics paint a somewhat bleak picture of the city's year in crime so far. Shootings involving injury or death rose more than 50 per cent (122 reported this year, compared with 80 in the same period last year), with 18 deaths documented as of Monday, up from six in 2015.
