Toronto police have charged three men — a Toronto Transit Commission employee and two TTC union representatives — following a theft investigation.
Police allege that one of the accused — a TTC collector — came up $3,800 short when his float was audited.
The accused then sought the assistance of the union and it's alleged that the union representatives assisted in the destruction of evidence in the investigation.
Deodato Sousa, 54, is charged with theft under $5,000, John Wales, 63, and Clarke Smith, 53, are both charged with compounding an indictable offence, theft under $5,000 and breach of trust.
They are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 9.
