In photos: Gunther von Hagens 10th anniversary of plastination

Gunther von Hagens, inventor of plastination, attends the 10th anniversary celebration of Gubener Plastinate GmbH, the plastination institute he founded, in Guben, Germany. Von Hagens, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, invented the plastination technique of preserving cadavers, which he has frequently applied to human specimens. His Body World exhibitions, which feature plastinated humans and animals in dynamic poses, have toured the world and earned considerable controversy.
