Canada is preparing to welcome a third group of Haitian adoptees.
An Air Canada Airbus carrying 35,000 kilograms of humanitarian relief supplies left for Port-Au-Prince, Haiti early Saturday and was to return to Ottawa at approximately 3:30 p.m. ET with almost 60 adoptees.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada says 57 children ranging in age from 3 months to 17 years, are expected on the flight, with almost half of them under the age of two.
The federal government has fast-tracked adoptions for 217 children approved by Haitian officials.
The first group of 28 arrived in Ottawa last weekend.
A second group of 52 arrived in Ottawa on Wednesday.
