Is the security barrier too close for comfort? For at least one driver, the answer is yes.

Around 7:40 on Wednesday night, a white Mercedes trying to get out of the underground garage at 5 Mariner Terrace off Bremner Boulevard crashed into the concrete blocks that have been placed down the middle of the road for the G20 summit. Gary Pieters, who lives in an nearby building and snapped these shots, say the barrier had just gone up when the accident occurred. "I felt it was too close," he said. "As a driver you really have to pay attention." Mr. Pieters said that police must have concluded the barriers were too close as well, because they moved the concrete divider back within half an hour of the crash. Does that qualify the driver for an ex gratia payment?
