The Residences on Georgia is a downtown Westbank project completed in 1998.

The action: The Residences on Georgia is a downtown Westbank project completed in 1998. The owners purchased the unit in 2012, for $630,000 and did some updates. Agent Paul Albrighton had 52 groups through open houses and private viewings. They received an offer after one week from a buyer who had lived in the building many years ago and wanted to return because of the location.

What they got: The 890-square-foot unit has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, den and dining area, featuring walnut floors, new crown mouldings, custom lighting and California closets. The kitchen has been renovated with new cabinets and stone countertops and has new appliances. The bathrooms were updated with new tiles, cabinets, quartz counters and fixtures. The unit has a 96-square-foot balcony. The building allows pets and rentals and comes with 24-hour concierge, a gym and secured underground parking. It has city views.

The agent’s take: “The Residences on Georgia has become very popular and prices have increased above average in the area, as Alberni Street and the surrounding streets are home to some of the most exclusive and expensive buildings in Vancouver, such as the Shangri-La and Trump Tower,” Mr. Albrighton said.

He also cited upcoming luxury projects with record-setting prices, such as 1550 Alberni by Westbank and Landmark on Robson, by Asia Standard International Group.
