DAYS ON THE MARKET Five

LISTING AGENT Suzanne Lewis, Keller Williams Advantage Realty

The Action: Late last fall a shortage of King West properties funnelled more interest towards this semi-detached house, so there were nearly 30 private showings and 120 public house attendants. The first pre-emptive offer to surface was challenged by two more, resulting in an accepted bid $93,000 over the $689,000 list price.

What They Got: Circa 1875, this brick Victorian was designed with three-bedroom plan, but different owners modernized and expanded into a 1,193-square-foot space with two second-floor bedrooms and an updated five-piece bathroom with heated floors and stacked laundry machines.

The kitchen was remodelled so it bears skylights, an island and stainless steel appliances, as well as access to a skylit office with a walkout to a 13-by-80-foot lot with southern exposures and potential to add parking off the lane.

Ten-foot ceilings and plank floors remain in the living and dining areas, as well as an unfinished 546-square-foot basement.

The Agent's Take: "It was a real Victorian, so it had a lot of original, charming features, like high ceilings, big, thick floorboards and really high baseboards," says agent Suzanne Lewis. "And some of the renovations over time added skylights, so it was really bright."

But what brought many to the property was its prime location. "It's at the end of a dead-end street … and it was two second from King Street and the action," Ms. Lewis adds.
