Two bidders recognized the value of its recent renovation, but one put forth $1.351-million to acquire it.

Furthermore, the workmanship was of a higher calibre than other renovated properties. "The owner of the house is the builder, so he lived there for himself and didn't cheap out on anything and the construction was really good," Mr. Jelinek explains.
"It has nice marble in the kitchen, backsplash that goes all the way up [to the ceiling] and nice grey hardwood floors."
