AlarmForce Industries Inc., Canada's largest manufacturer and installer of live two-way voice home alarm systems, says its nine-month profit rose to $1.76-million from $921,000 as revenues increased 19 per cent.

The Toronto company said late Wednesday it earned 15 cents a share for the nine months ended July 31, up from 8 cents a share for the same 2007 period.

Revenues rose 19 per cent to just under $22-million from $18.5-million as the company expanded its customer base by 15,000 new systems during the nine months, a 15 per cent increase compared with 13,100 for the same 2007 period.

The company did not break out its third quarter results separately but said revenues in the quarter were nearly $7.6-million.

AlarmForce, familiar to Canadian consumers through TV ads by president and CEO Joel Matlin, operates across Canada and in selected markets in the United States. The company had a base of 87,500 subscribers at the end of the third quarter.
