Statistics Canada releases its jobs report for March. Economists expect the jobless rate to remain unchanged at 7 per cent, an jobs creation at 6,500 new positions.

Statscan reports on the merchandise trade balance in February. Economists expect it to be flat.

The U.S. Labour Department publishes its employment report for March. Economists expect the unemployment rate to remain unchanged at 7.7 per cent, and non-farm payrolls to gain 190,000 jobs.

The U.S. Commerce Department reports on the trade balance in February. Economists expect a deficit of 44.6-billion (U.S.).
