Weekly meetings are often defended as necessary to keep everyone informed about what everyone else is doing. Instead, consultant Alison Green says you might experiment with having someone compiling the updates into a department-wide e-mail rather than presenting them orally at a meeting. If the notes are concise, most people will read them, she believes.
